We know attending a new church, or attending church for the first time can be intimidating.

Women of the Church 1

We are a congregation nurtured by God through worship, fellowship, Christian education and spiritual growth. We are called by God to use our gifts, talents and love to guide and support one another as we live as disciples of Christ.

We have been at our current location since 1983 and are the product of the 1959 merger of the former Mt. Olive and Flanders Presbyterian churches. Our Mission is building a Family of God, united in worship; serving one another and the global community through Jesus Christ.

Where are we located?

We are conveniently located right off Route 206 at 58 Drakesdale Rd. in Flanders, NJ (2.5 miles south of Interstate 80).  We are located within close driving distance of Budd Lake, Chester, Long Valley, Roxbury, Succasunna, Ledgewood, Netcong, Stanhope, Byram Twp and Hackettstown.  View the map below for specific location and driving directions.

When is our worship service?

Join us in person or online every Sunday at 10am!  Sunday School classes also take place during our 10:00 am service.

How long are the worship services?

Each service lasts about 1 hour. Immediately following the service, worship continues over coffee and fellowship.

What should I wear?

We invite you to dress comfortably.  You will observe a variety of styles from suits and ties, to casual dress clothes, to jeans and comfortable shirts.

Where do I take my children?

We welcome children into our sanctuary during our worship services. We are aware that this means there will often be associated sounds from our littlest Christians. They are welcome! If you feel as though your child needs a break or needs a quiet place to go and move around more, we offer a Quiet Room which is located just off the Narthex. This area has a changing table, rocking chair, toys, books and speakers so you can listen to the service from there if you’d like.

Sunday School?

The service begins at 10am with the church family together and the children leave for their own time to learn and grow in their Christian Faith.

Life in the Church

Musical groups

UPC has a wide variety of musical groups that lead in worship at least once a month, including UPC ARISE! contemporary worship band, Chancel Adult Choir, a children’s Little Ringers Bell Choir, Adult Bell Choir and periodic additional instrumentalists. We highlight the various seasons of the church year through:

Holy Week begins with our annual Seder Dinner, a re-telling of the ancient Exodus story and including a delicious full-course lamb dinner.

A Maundy Thursday Service of readings and songs points us to the holy weekend that is to come.
