I first stumbled upon UPC early last summer while I was looking for a nursery school for my youngest daughter. As I stopped into Fun N Friends to drop off some paperwork, I noticed a poster on the wall for "Vacation Bible School" and decided to sign her up for that as well. Little did I know that week of VBS would not only be a blast for her, but also the beginning of a wonderful spiritual adventure for me with my new church family. I was immediately welcomed with open arms and have since found a second home here at UPC Flanders.
I am a member of the Fun N Friends board as well as the Administrative Assistant for the church. I am also a member of the church bell choir. My favorite thing in the world is spending time with my husband and children. We have fun doing just about anything. Even a simple dinnertime chat can turn into a hysterical story to tell the next day. I have been blessed with many different people in my life. I love to see my family and friends from upstate NY where I am originally from, and I enjoy long weekends down the shore visiting my husbands' parents as well. As much as I love to visit, I mostly love to cook and entertain friends and family in our home.
Kolleen Adams - Director Fun'n'Friends Nursery School
I have always enjoyed working with young children. Seeing the wonder and excitement in their eyes is a daily reminder of God’s love for us. I work with a wonderful, caring staff that just enhances my job.
I grew up in Succasunna, New Jersey, and have lived in this area most of my life. I graduated from The College of New Jersey in 1971 and married my husband Bill in 1972. I taught second grade at Jefferson School in Roxbury until our first son was born. I was a stay at home mom until our third son entered kindergarten 1986 when I started working at Fun ‘n’ Friends Nursery School as director.I am a member of the United Presbyterian Church and have participated in many activities.
Some of the things I enjoy outside of work are traveling with my husband, reading, stained glass, wood working, photography, gardening and most anything outside in the warm weather.
